My experience is nowhere near as harrowing as others would have had, but involved a boy at school who locked me in a room. Thankfully he stopped short of doing anything more than touching my thigh, once I found my voice to say stop.

I lost track of time, and ran into another room I wasn’t due in for 45 minutes, blubbering about the incident. Unfortunately, in front of half of my year. By lunchtime it was common knowledge, but I was branded for something I didn’t encourage or want. It led to all sorts of bullying.  When I tried to lay a complaint about the boy in question, I was told that I should think about his bright future.
